The grand opening of the newly renovated Clarence “Jeep” Jones Park will take place Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 3 pm at 250 Roxbury Street, Roxbury, MA. 

Renovations include new play areas, plantings, improved access, better lighting and a special new, slow-growing, drought tolerant grass that could save money and protect the environment. The city planted Pearl's Premium lawn seed in the park to test the special blend, which requires little or no mowing and could cut maintenance costs, water use and air and noise pollution. 

The public is invited to the ceremony, which will be attended by Mayor Menino, Boston Parks & Recreation head, Antonia Pollak, community leaders and representatives of Pearl’s Premium.
